Practice Mindfulness
Deep breathing exercises can help ease your mind and relax your muscles:
- Scan your body. This may sound funny but it can work. Concentrate on relaxing one muscle at a time. Start at the top with your head and work all the way down to your toes.
- Count your breaths. Breathe in and breathe out slowly as you count the seconds. Try and make each action the same amount of seconds. Do this a few times while you’re sitting and the waiting room or during down time while you’re in the dentist chair.
