Preventive Tips For Kid Care

We know that getting through the day with kids of any age means lots and lots of details, a ton of energy on your part, and a lot of hope that you’re getting everything done well. When it comes to the oral health of your kids, it can be easy to become uncertain regarding children’s treatments, things you should or should not be doing, and how to keep up with dental hygiene. Fortunately, we have some easy-to-adhere-to tips that will get you headed in the right direction.

Tip: Say “Yes!” To Sealants

Kids, even when they are doing their absolute best to brush their teeth, will have some amount of trouble getting grooved surfaces spotless. As a result, we give them the extra oral health protection they need by sealing back teeth chewing surfaces with this effective solution, which we call dental sealants.

Tip: Check In Regarding Fluoride

We generally instruct you to use fluoridated toothpaste for yourself and your children because it is beneficial and protective of your oral health. However, we also remind you that visits are important because it allows you to check in on fluoride levels. We can talk about community fluoride supplementation, the toothpaste you use, the type of water your kids drink, and more, so we can then determine whether fluoride treatments are necessary!

Tip: Keep An Eye Out

There’s a lot to monitor, whether you’ve got little kids, teens, etc. All ages will likely require you to say, “Hey, did you brush your teeth?” Younger kids will need you to actually brush with them until they are responsible enough to brush thoroughly on their own (and until you’re sure they’re not swallowing toothpaste or other oral health related products). Simply keep an eye on your kids to ensure they’re developing good habits.
