Are Veneers Right For Me?

Have you found that you are certainly a fan of the benefits you’ve been hearing about veneers? However, are you also spending time asking, “Are porcelain veneers right for me?” You will quickly find that you are in good company with many other patients who like what they hear, immediately wonder if veneers are within reach, and who are seeking answers. Fortunately, getting a good idea of your candidacy is simple. Of course, for verification, come on in for a visit.

Requirements For Candidacy

First, remember that deciding whether porcelain veneers are right for you first depends on whether you want veneers. If they sound interesting but you’d rather consider something else, you are free to combine other treatment options. However, if you want veneers, one or more of the following may come into play:

  • You are looking for treatment that will improve your natural teeth (not artificial teeth)
  • You want to improve the shade, shape, or texture of your teeth
  • You are interested in addressing only minor issues with alignment (like tiny spaces)
  • You understand that we bond veneers to your smile, camouflaging the visible part of your teeth

Potential Obstacles (And What To Do)

For some patients, the requirements will not match up with their needs. We are happy to report that you may be able to overcome obstacles or that alternative solutions may better suit your goals. Consider the following:

  • If you want to improve artificial tissue, you will require other treatment plans
  • If you need restorative care, you will first need suggested treatments (then you may receive porcelain veneers)
  • If you need to cover a tooth or replace a tooth, veneers cannot address your needs (you will need a crown or prosthetic tooth)
  • If you want to address serious misalignment, you will need orthodontic care
