Wow! Have you been taking your coffee or tea drinking up a notch? If that’s the case, you may want to back it down a bit. Remember that these beverages, among others (including some foods), contain caffeine, which is a stimulant. This means that it will stimulate or encourage your muscles to move, rather than doing the opposite, which would be to relax them. With bruxism disorder, we remind you that you’re dealing with muscle movements that are taking place involuntarily and to an excessive degree, so skipping the extra caffeine will most definitely be to your benefit.
While you don’t want to add anything into your diet that will cause extra muscle movements, we remind you that you will also want to try to avoid training your muscles to move more than they have to. If you’re snacking quite frequently during the day or doing something like chewing gum, this can make bruxism disorder worse. Try to limit extra motion, when possible!
