Smile Protection: 4 Things You Should Limit

There are those things that you can do for your smile without considering limits. For instance, drinking water is always good. Eating healthy foods will never be an issue. Taking a look in the mirror to see if anything has changed is consistently beneficial. However, as you may have imagined, there are also those things you should probably limit in order to keep your smile looking beautiful and your oral health protected. Let’s make our way through four showstoppers that you might want to keep in mind.

#1: Floss Picks

One thing that you should not be using on a consistent basis is floss picks. Yes, they are very convenient for quickly getting food out of your teeth. You can use them on the go, keep them in your desk drawer or car, and never worry about embarrassing after-dinner moments again! However, while they are fine for occasional spot cleaning, they’re not recommended for your dental hygiene routine.

#2: Staining Foods

If you don’t want your smile to become discolored, then we suggest you limit the amount of staining foods and drinks you consume. While you can always rinse and brush afterwards, limiting the pigmentation exposure your teeth experience is very helpful.

#3: Sugar

If you want your oral health to remain safe, it’s best to limit sugar. This ingredient is eaten up by plaque, which digest it and then release acids. As you might imagine, the result is tooth decay, gingivitis, and additional problems.

#4: Believing What You Read Online

Another way to protect your oral health is to remember to limit yourself to reading information online without taking it in as fact. This can cause you to act in ways that we don’t suggest for your smile. Instead, get your questions answered with our team, so you make wise choices.
