Ready For Veneers? Hint: Care Is Simple

Do you feel like you’re ready to take the plunge and say, “yes!” to choosing porcelain veneers? If so, you will soon find yourself making an exciting journey toward a truly remarkable smile transformation. So, why aren’t you jumping at the opportunity to make this change? If you are like many of our patients, you are worried that even though your smile will look lovely, perhaps caring for it will become a huge challenge. Good news – it won’t. Veneers require simple care. Allow us to enlighten you with some details.

They Don’t Stain Easily

Porcelain veneers are not immune to discoloration. However, they are quite stain resistant. This means that you can’t simply drink coffee, eat berries, and slather on the mustard without expecting some eventual shade changes. However, it means you don’t need to spend any time worrying about the brilliance of your smile as long as you’re dedicated to general daily dental hygiene. Brush your teeth twice a day (remember to use a soft bristle brush and avoid anything harsh). Floss once a day. See us twice a year. It’s very simple.

They’re Surprisingly Strong

Patients are also worried that their porcelain veneers won’t hold up structurally. Again, as resistant as they are to staining, these little powerhouses are resilient when it comes to daily stress. You will obviously want to avoid biting into something you consider too hard for your natural teeth – but aside from the extreme cases, your veneers are almost as strong as your teeth. You may continue enjoying your usual snacks and meals, while your smile continues to look beautiful.
