Looking For Summer Fun In Grand Prairie

Summer is here, and there is always something fun and exciting happening in our city. Which means if you want something for this weekend or through the rest of the month, you should check out today’s blog. In our latest blog, your Grand prairie, TX, dentist talks about some fun events that you and your family don’t want to miss out on!

Dollar Day & Lone Star Turf

On Saturday June 28th you and the family can enjoy Dollar Day and Lone Star Turf Festival at Lone Star Park on 1000 Lone Star Parkway. Gates open at noon, and the first race is at 1:35pm. General admission is only a dollar, and this gets you into the event, as well as Lone Star Today programs, Pepsi, hotdogs, popcorn, and beer. In addition to the races, there will also be live music on the Courtyard of Champions Stages from 1pm to 5pm, featuring the sounds of Emerald City’s Party Machine.

Teen Pickleball Night

Teen Pickleball Night takes place at the Chicken N Pickle in 2965 South Highway 161 on Monday June 30th. The event lasts from 8pm to 10pm. Kids can enjoy free open pickleball play under the outside lights. There is no need to sign up beforehand, but there is a waiver that needs to be signed. A great way to spend an evening with your kids!

Summer Concert Series

The Summer Concert Series continues! If you missed the June show, then mark your calendar for the Thursday, July 10th performance from 6pm until 9pm. The show takes place at Lynn Creek Park at Joe Pool Lake, hosted by the Grand Prairie Parks, Arts, and Recreation department. The theme for the July show is country music, and features a show from The Neon Prophets, who play a variety of country classics. Admission is free for residents, and non-residents just need to pay $20 per vehicle.

Brit Floyd

If you love Pink Floyd, then consider checking out the tribute band Brit Floyd on Tuesday, August 5th at 7pm. The show takes place at the Texas Trust CU Theatre on 1001 Texas Trust Way. They will be playing hits and deep cuts from Pink Floyd’s discography, a great show for the whole family!
