Each Friday, we like to take a break from our usual oral health topics to take a look at our community. Be sure to check out Meat on Main this Saturday, September 28th from 11am until 5pm. This will take place in downtown Grand Prairie on 120 West Main Street. Hosted by the Grand Prairie Parts, Arts, and Recreation Department, there will be a BBQ smoke-off, a classic car show, live music, tons of local food vendors, a cornhole tournament, and more! You can still sign up to compete in the cornhole tournament and compete in the BBQ smoke off. A great day for the whole family!
You and your family can also check out the Farmers Market on Saturday, September 28th from 8am until 1pm. This will take place every Saturday from now through December 14th. You can check out the market on 120 West Main Street. This is a great chance to purchase local veggies, tamales, plants, salsa, baked goods, veggies, honey, soap, candles, and much, much more! You support your community and pick up something truly unique in the process.
You and your family can check out Dollar Day on Saturday, September 28th! This takes place at Lone Star Park on 1000 Lone Star Parkway. General admission, popcorn, hot dogs, peeps, and beer are just $1 apiece. The races will start at 6:05pm. A great day for the whole family to enjoy, so be sure not to miss it!
On Saturday September 28th, you can check out the Heroes on the Run 5K and Fun Run from 7:30am until 10:30 am. The event takes place at 2961 State Highway 161. The whole family can take part, and people are encouraged to dress up like their favorite superheroes!
