“Better Than” Tips For Oral Health

Do you know if you’re doing right by your smile? Do you assume that if you’re doing something that isn’t exactly in line with our suggestions for good oral health then you might as well not even try? We understand that when you’re thinking about dental care, it often seems like a very black and white world. However, there is most certainly quite a big grey area! When you’re faced with two not-so-great options, it’s actually possible to pick the better of the two. Not to worry! We can help you with the details, which just might offer you the clarity you’ve been needing.

Chocolate Is Better Than Sticky Candy

Think about the different types of candies out there. Let’s compare taffy with a square of dark chocolate. When you eat the taffy, it is incredibly sticky. It can saturate your teeth because it is so tacky, it may wrap itself around or stick to dental work, and you will feel it stuck on your smile with your tongue. Now, for the dark chocolate. As you eat it, it quickly melts away, leaving barely a trace on your smile. See the difference? Reach for the candy that quickly disappears from your mouth. It’s better for your oral health.

Sugarless Gum Is Better Than Nothing

When you don’t have any option for dental hygiene but you’ve just eaten or sipped on a sugar-filled beverage, remember that you have options. First, rinsing with water is always a good plan. Simply drinking a glass will help. Then, of course, chewing on a stick of sugarless gum for 20 to 30 minutes is wonderful at protecting your oral health.

Late Is Better Than Never!

Have you not seen a dentist for a very long time? The statement “better late than never” always applies. No matter how long it’s been, please come in!
