Enjoying Fun Activities In Grand Prairie

Did you know we’ll officially be in fall in just a few days? With a new season comes fun and exciting events, especially since the outdoor weather will be cooling! Which is why in today’s blog, your Grand Prairie, TX, family dentist will be covering fun events and festivals happening in our community this week and throughout the rest of autumn!

Family Campout

This weekend you and your family can take part in a Family Campout hosted by the Grand Prairie Parks, Arts, and Recreation department at Lloyd Park at Joe Pool Lake. This event is open to novice and experienced campers alike. The event takes place from September 13th through the 15th and each campsite is $50. You can bring your own camping gear and enjoy tons of fun outdoor events!

GP Nature Club

GP Nature Club is having their next event on Saturday, September 27th starting at 9am. This will take place at Lloyd Park at Joe Pool Lake on 3401 Ragland Road. This event is Rocks and Relics, and will teach you and your family about geology, fossils, and ancient history. Admission is $20 per vehicle and there will be a rock sorting table, a fossil dig sandbox, pet rock painting, and geode smashing. There is a walk to learn about the timeline of the Earth, and mini presentations. Kids can paint rock wall art too! A fun and educational event for people of all ages!

Texas Monthly BBQ Family Reunion

Mark your calendars, because the Texas Monthly BBQ Family Reunion is taking place on Saturday, September 27th from 6:30pm to 10pm at EpicCentral on 2961 State Highway 161. This is an event celebrating all things related to Texas BBQ, and you can try some delicious, fall-off-the-bone barbecue of all kinds!

Mid-Autumn Festival

Start October with the 18th Annual Mid-Autumn Festival from October 3rd through the 5th on Asia Times Square, at Banh Mi Number 1 on 2625 West Pioneer Parkway. The event is open for people of all ages, so bring the whole family. There will be food and artisan vendors, amazing cultural performances and some live shows, as well as dancing and cultural performances. Kids can enjoy activities tailored to them and free goodie bags. There will also be a lantern parade in the evening. An evening offers authentic Asian food and culture, one you don’t ant to miss!
