The bleaching ingredients in the gel will then be activated with a light, which breaks up stains. We can repeat the process as needed, and you leave with a noticeably brighter smile.
Whitening Your Teeth from Home
For patients with more substantial discoloration, we could opt for our at-home option, which involves a take home kit to brighten your teeth in a week to ten days. When you arrive at the office, we will take impressions of your bite to create a set of plastic trays, which we will send home with you. We also provide multiple plastic syringes that contain a powerful bleaching gel. Patients then add gel to the trays and wear them for the amount of time we recommend. This could be an hour a day or possibly overnight, depending on the state of your discoloration.
The trays ensure the results are even across your smile and prevent the gel from being diluted by saliva. For some, teeth could be up to eight shades brighter following treatment, and they can keep the trays and any remaining gel should they need touch-ups in the months to come.
