Main Street Festival
We want to remind everyone that in October the 2025 Main Street Festival will be happening from Friday October 24th through Sunday October 26th in downtown Grand Prairie at 120 West Main Street. Admission and parking are free, and you can see live music, enjoy carnival rides and games, and check out the vendors and beer garden. There is also KIDZONE for the little ones. The biggest celebration of the year, and one you don’t want to miss!
BBQ Festival
Next Saturday, September 27th, you and your family can check out the annual Texas Monthly BBQ Family Reunion at EpicCentral on 2961 State Highway 161. This celebration of all things Texas barbecue takes place from 6:30pm to 10pm. You can try delicious food and spend an awesome evening with your friends and family.
Mid-Autumn Festival
The annual Mid-Autumn Festival is in its 18th year and will take place from Friday October 3rd through Sunday October 5th at Asia Times Square. Also known as the Mooncake Festival, this is a great way for you and the whole family to celebrate and learn about new traditions and culture!
GP Nature Club
Mark your calendars because the next GP Nature Club event is on Saturday, September 27th, starting at 9am. This is hosted by the Grand Prairie Parks, Arts, and Recreation Department, and takes place at Lloyd Park at Joe Pool Lake on 3401 Ragland Road. The theme will be “Rocks and Relics” and will focus on fossils, geology, and all things prehistoric. Open for kids of all ages, this will last until noon and admission is just $20 per vehicle. Kids can smash geodes, dig up fossils in a sandbox, and check out the rock sorting table. They can paint their own pet rocks, see a timeline of Earth, and use tools! There is also a mini presentation at 10:30am called “Stories in Stone” about how fossils tell us about the ancient world. Kids can also pick up fossil rubbing sheets, rock ID cards, and fun jokes and trivia sheets.
