Obtaining A Full Smile With Our Dentures

grand prairie dentures

When you have suffered from the loss of most of your teeth, or all of them, then you need a dental prosthetic. With dentures, both full and partial, we can help patients enjoy complete smiles again. In today’s blog, your Grand Prairie, TX, dentist talks about how we help smiles with our custom full and partial dentures.

When to Seek Tooth Replacement

When you suffer from an advanced case of tooth decay, then you need to see our team for a dental prosthetic. Dentures are designed to handle severe cases of tooth loss, such as complicated cases in which you have multiple gaps in your smile. We can also use them to handle total tooth loss, known as edentulism, so you can smile with confidence again. Remember, this improves the appearance of your smile, but also restores your ability to eat your favorite foods and speak without difficulty. Don’t let tooth loss harm your overall quality of life, reach out to our team to find out which options are right for you.

Partial Dentures

A partial is designed to take on the complicated cases of tooth loss we mentioned above. These are situations in which you have multiple gaps spread out across the arch, too severe for a bridge. But these are also cases in which you have enough natural teeth in place that extraction to make room for a full denture is overkill. With the partial, we will take detailed digital images of your teeth, and use these images and measurements to design and craft your denture. The partial contains new teeth set in an acrylic base designed to mimic the appearance of gum tissue. The new teeth will fit in the gaps in your smile, and metal clasps in the prosthetic will connect to natural teeth to keep the prosthetic in place. This is a removable one, and will need cleaning and soaking to stay strong and last for years to come.

Full

A full replaces every tooth on one or both arches, and contains a complete set of teeth in an acrylic base. Instead of metal clasps, these will be secured with suction or an adhesive, and will last about 5 to 10 years on average. You will be able to enjoy a full smile again, and we will provide instructions on how to care for your new teeth. If you have any questions about how our team will secure a new smile with full or partial, then contact our team today. You can still see our team and use your 2024 dental insurance benefits before they expire at the end of the month, so reach out right away!
